Locality

Seaton and Downderry

Seaton is a mere two minutes by car, or take a scenic stroll down the lane or an amble along the bridleway and through the woods. Explore Seaton Valley Countryside Park, tempt your taste buds at the new Chameleon bistro, Smugglers pub, Seaton beach café, or try the local shop or hairdressers. The fabulous beach at Seaton is a treat for all dog lovers as it is one of the very few dog friendly beaches around. Both Seaton and Downderry village beaches are a must for kayak owners and surfers. Nature lovers will adore the flora and fauna of the area. Watch out for the elusive dolphins and seals in the surf and keep a keen eye open for rare lizards and snakes, which have been spotted on the coastal path during hot weather. Don't let the men in your life forget their fishing rods; sea bass and mackerel can be caught off the shore. Bring your deck chairs, bottle of wine, BBQ and take that well earned rest, while the children continue to play and watch the sun setting on yet another perfect day.

If you wish, continue your stroll along the beach to Downderry. The Inn on the Shore not only serves tasty food and ales all year round, but is well worth a visit for the uninterrupted view over the shimmery sea. The Blue Plate Restaurant also serves excellent cuisine and there is a well equipped Spar shop, Post Office and Barclays banking.

Looe

The historic harbour town of Looe is just 4 miles away. Here you will find an endless variety of shops, pubs, and restaurants. Stroll along the quay to Banjo pier, take the ferry across to West Looe, or a glass bottom boat around Looe Island. Or, simply grab a pasty and a pint and while away the day whilst the kids play on the beach or crab fish to their hearts content, they'll be hooked forever! For the more adventurous, there are shark and conger eel fishing trips, or try your hand at mackerel fishing. For freshly caught fish, try Pengelly's on the quay, perfect for those delicious holiday barbeques on the beach.

Polperro

Take the car west to historic Polperro. This ancient, quaint fishing port is unforgettable with its interesting shops, pretty fishermen's cottages and has been the inspiration for many novels and paintings.

This is also the home of Skye Classic Motorcycles. We repair, restore and sell parts for classic Triumph and many other British classic motorcycles.
